Pastor Chris Garrison: Sermon #1
Pastor Chris Garrison: Sermon #1
This is the last sermon in the series The Whole Story of the Bible in 16 Verse. Pastor Chris show us in Revelation 21:1-4 tha God is preparing a glorious future for us! We need to live with that end in mind.
Pastor Chris Garrison continues the series using the book The Whole Story of the Bible in 16 Verses as a spring board. This week in Romans 3:21-26, Pastor Chris shows us that justification in Jesus Christ is bigger than forgiveness. Forgivness says we are free to go, Justification says we are free to come. We can come to God and exchange our brokenness for the wholeness of His son, Jesus. It is a gift, through faith, for all who believe.
Pastor Chris Garrison Continues the series from the 16 Verses series. Often we limit the power of God to what we can understand. In Romans 1:3-4 we see that when we procalim Jesus as King, Son and Lord of all, we need to resond to that power. Let's not box Him in...Blow the doors off our small faith. Don't be satisfied with just a little bit of God --His greatness cannot be contained!
Pastor Chris Garrison continues the series The Whole Story of the Bible in 16 Verses based on John 19:30. He continues talking about Jesus' work on the cross. Everything in the Bible points to this last act. The entire course of history is transformed as Jesus says just three words: "It is finished." Jesus' finished work includes the end of suffering, the end of the old law, the end of sin.
Life is filled with anticipation -- both good and bad. It requires patience and calls for a response or action of some kind.Today, Pastor Chris Garrison Continues the series The Whole Story of the Bible in 16 Verses by talking about the time in the Bible that had been long awaited, the moment that was anticipated from the beginning of time. We see in the Gospel of Mark, chapter 1:14-15 and 37:3-5 how this anticipation unfolds in our story in Christ. The presence, rule and reign of God is here. It is available to you now!
This Sunday, Pastor Chris Garrison continues the the 16 Verses sermon series. Somethingshapes your life, he tells us, but the problem is that all of these things will disappoint. They will let you down, they will not last. In Isaiah 65:17, we see that weare meant to be shaped, but not by the temporary, small things that we oftenallow to shape our lives. In Isaiah, we see the difference if we let God's Glory shapes our past, present and future.
Pastor Chris Garrison shows us the ecstatic, prophetic vision God gave Ezekiel in Ezekiel 37:3-5. God showed Ezekiel a valley of death, full of dried bones. Just like these bones were given life, God wants to speak life into your dead and dry place. Yes, life can kill you, but God gives us real life through His Holy Spirit.
Pastor Chris Garrison continues his "16 Verses" Sermon series teaching from Isaiah 53:6. The text, in context, contains a series of seemingly contradictory statements. Yet the juxtapositions create a clear structure that defines what the servant is: a divine substitution for the sacrifice needed to pay the price for the sins of Adam and Eve that are transferred to us and that we carry. The suffering servant's humiliation leads to exaltation and brings us peace as he bears our sins. Why? Because GOD LOVES YOU!
