1 Tim: 5 Wise Guidelines: Healthy Family

God wants us to be a healthy church family. Pastor Chris Garrison shows how Paul, in 1 Timothy 5:17-25, outlines practices that allow church leaders to work well and lead the flock. Also,  we as a church must relate to our leaders well; it is part of our worship.

1 Timothy 4:11-16 The Impact of Integrity

Integrity is rare in our culture. It is often disguised as pride as we embrace the character issues of others and ourselves. Pastor Chris Garrison leads us through 1 Timothy 4:11-16 as we learn that to have Biblical integrity, we must live a life that is according to Jesus' way and leads others to find Christ. Biblical integrity is what brings us real life.

1 Timothy 4:6-10 "In It to Win It"

Pastor Chris Garrison continues the series in1 Timothy. Spiritual training produces victory in life. In 1 Timothy 4:6-10 we learn that spiritual training requires us to change our focus and our purpose in life. God gives us opportunities to grow in Him and to train for godliness, but that requires us to choose to learn. Spiritual training requires specific, intentional work and time. "...we labor and strive because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people..." We CAN have victory!

"Loyalty Days" Philippians 3:20

This weekend of Loyalty Days is traditionally celebrated here, on the Long Beach Peninsula, the first weekend in May. After a lively congregational discussion about what makes America great, and what makes being an American challenging, Pastor Chris Garrison preaches from Philippians 3:20. We are challenged to ask, What am I being loyal to as a citizen? How can I actively be loyal to a nation that is divided among itself and does not fully represent the Kingdom values that come from God? For those who believe in Jesus, we are not only citizens of a nation, we are also citizens of Heaven. Pastor Chris looks at the nature of Heavenly citizenship, the marks of that citizenship, and the effects of it on our world and lives.

Pastor Alex Mutagubya shares his journey from abject poverty as an abandoned child in East Africa to his present ministry to the people of Uganda. At age 14 He gave his life to Jesus Christ and became passionate for God and answered God's call into full time ministry. Alex graduated form Multnomah University with a Masters of Divinity in May 2010. He and his wife serve together a s senior ministers in Luzira Community Church, in Uganda.

The Power of the Resurrection

EASTER -- Luke 24: 13-25 The Lord has risen!

On this Easter Sunday, Pastor Chris Garrison takes us to the road to Emmaus, Luke 24:13-35. Hope was filling the lives of Jesus' followers, and then when he was crucified they were devastated. They had lost hope. As travelers with Jesus, we don't always recognize Him in the brokenness of our lives. Are you hopeless and lost? Jesus will reveal himself to you...and you will never be the same! The Lord has risen, indeed!

Matthew 21:12-17 Pomp and Circumstances

Matthew 21:12-17 is the account of Jesus' triumphant ride into Jerusalem -- Palm Sunday. Pastor Chris Garrison asks, "Have you ever gotten stuck in your life?" Often we need to stop and ask for help. Jerusalem was stuck in their religion. Jesus came to show them a way out. Sometimes our idea of what is right clashes with Jesus' idea if what is right.  Jesus wants to wreck our "religion" in order to call us to true religion.
